At this time, Wilhelmine's husband, Gotthilf, was in Utica, New York with their eldest son, Otto. The two of them left for America in 1923 to earn some money during the depression that Germany was facing after the first World War. The rest of the family came over in 1925 and, together, they settled in New Brunswick, New Jersey. |
